 Abstract:  Allan Radbourne was a writer and historian. In addition to numerous journal and magazine articles about Western history, he published an acclaimed biography of Apache Scout Mickey Free in 2005 called Mickey Free: Apache captive, interpreter, and Indian Scout. Later in life he began writing about the early cinema, with a history of silent movies titled The Silent Mountie Movies-1910-1930 published posthumously in 2021. The Allan Radbourne collection consists of 7 series of records, notes, photographs, articles, transcriptions, presentations and other reference materials related to Southwestern Frontier and Borderlands History circa 1800's and early 1900's created by Allan Radbourne. Inclusive dates reflect the original date of the primary source material if available or if it is transcribed from an original source material. The bulk of the collection is composed of records for the journal Ceramica de Cultura Maya et al. This publication was a key platform for collating scholarship on Mayan ceramics. Also included in the papers are items such as Gifford's journal of his 1952 trip to Tarahumara settlements in Mexico, extensive ceramic typology research files, publication materials for his study of the Barton Ramie site in Belize, the records of a joint project with Watson Smith on Awatovi corrugated ceramics, and extensive correspondence files from scholars around the world involved in pottery research. These papers document the conceptual development of the type:variety-mode approach to the study of prehistoric ceramics.

 Abstract:  The U.S. Presidential Debate Photograph Collection consists of digital images and hardcopy prints documenting temporary facilities and events associated with the debate between US Presidential candidates George W. Bush and John Kerry held at Arizona State University on October 13, 2004. The bulk of the photographs made by University Archivist Rob Spindler and Librarian Claude Potts depict daytime outdoor campus scenes near the Memorial Union, Hayden Library and Gammage Auditorium. The collection does not include photos of the actual debate or the interior of Gammage Auditorium, the site of the debate held that evening.
