 Abstract:  The collection provides insights into Bill Bass's many-faceted life. The most important images are those that document the Bass Family at the Grand Canyon and in Wickenburg. In addition, there are several fine early images of the trail to Rainbow Bridge from Navajo Mountain (most taken by the El Tovar Studio), the Octave and Congress mines, and the Hassayampa River in flood. While the bulk of the images are not credited, many were probably taken by Bass or his family.

It also includes correspondence, pictures and other papers of Tappan's wife, Laura Fulton Tappan (1849-1933), which relate to her career as a kindergarten teacher at Flagstaff, Ariz., and to members of her family, the Fultons and Howards, in Baltimore, Md., and Zanesville, Ohio.

 Abstract:  The Lauzon family collection consists of a variety of historic documents and photographs (see series 10 for a description of the photograph component) that describe and depict the family's early life in northern Arizona, primarily at the Grand Canyon, from the early 1900s into the 1980s. The papers were created primarily by Hubert "Bert" Lauzon. They describe his work as rancher, miner, tourist guide, caretaker for the Bright Angel Trail and Grand Canyon National Park Ranger. The collection includes material about the Lauzon Family and their continued interest in mining and ranching after Bert's death in 1951. This later material was created by Bert's son, Hubert F. Lauzon.

 Abstract:  The material contained in this collection concerns matters between members of the Perrin family and their spouses. Edward B. Perrin (1838-1932) was born in Alabama. He was a physician and worked as such during the Civil War. However, after the war, he moved to California, where most of his subsequent entrepreneurial activities took place. Perrin also took some of his entrepreneurial endevors to Ariaona. He acquired lands, sheep, cattle, and mining interests in Arizona, where he owned about 400,000 acres. The bulk of the papers in this collection represent a portion of his Arizona activities.

 Abstract:  Rosa Ronquillo Rhodes (1894-1982) was the postmistress on a ranch in Redington, Arizona (Pima County) from 1922-1936. Of Mexican descent, she was the first child in her family to become literate, and held a position that was central to the ranching community in which she lived. This collection of photographs, postcards, postal documents, and an oral history by her daughter portrays her life as a postmistress, as well as offers a glimpse into ranch life in rural Arizona during that period.
