This collection consists of seven photographs taken primarily in Pennsylvania and Europe of
the Mackenzie family and one newspaper clipping related to Stef Mackenzie. These items were
donated at the Community Digitization Day 2017 event at Special Collections. Links to the
digital counterparts of the photographs and clipping are included in the finding aid.

Fiddlers Moore and McBride, undated
Scope and Contents
McBride (left) and Moore (right) lived in Raccoon County, Pennsylvania area settled
by Scotch Irish immigrant (1800s) and are affiliated with the Mackenzie clan. Moore
was said to be barefoot most of the time and had heavily calloused feet.

Scope and Contents
Berta Mackenzie at twelve-years-old. Taken in a small town nearby Pecs, Hungary. The
town was destroyed during WWII.

Scope and Contents
Taken onboard the Nord Deutscher Lloyd. Anna (adult), Laszlo (boy), and Berta (girl)
Sczalocys settled in Philadelphia after immigrating from Hungary.

Clark Mackenzie in the US Army, photographed while taking a break in surveying in
Germany. Clark Mackenzie surveyed battlegrounds before bombing by the US Army.

Sczalocy in Garden, Pecs, Germany, circa 1925
Scope and Contents
Photograph of Stephen Sczalocy in a garden taken before he immigrated to the United
States. Sczalocy entered through Ellis Island and later settled in Philadelphia.

Betty and Clark with Grandpa John, circa 1930s
Scope and Contents
Mackenzie family photo taken shortly after Clark and Betty Mackenzie's dad, Joseph,
was shot and killed by Pinkerton Guards in Pittsburgh railway yard. Joseph was jumping
a train to get back home when he was shot. John Mackenzie, Clark Jr., Betty Jean at 59
Highland Avenue in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.

Stef Mackenzie attends a birthday in Silver Spring, Maryland. The event made the
