Historical Note

Founded in 1947, Defenders of Wildlife is a national organization focused on wildlife conservation. In 2007 the Defenders of Wildlife brought forward a lawsuit to stop construction of a wall on the US-Mexico border due to concern it might damage wildlife habitat.


Scope and Content Note

The collection (2000-2012) contains materials including environmental assessment reports, books, CD/ROMs and ephemera. Environmental reports are arranged in chronological order to emphasize development over time while published reports (series II) are arranged alphabetically by title. Series IV, the CD/ROMs replicate this organizational structure with government reports in chronological order and all others in alphabetical order.
