A Look into the Library of the Future was a staff-led project within Northern Arizona University's Cline Library in 2002. Staff cited as contributors to the project include Cindy Summers (then Cindy Lieber), Laura Taylor (then Laura Rose), R. Sean Evans, Andrew See, and Walter Hoke. The resulting video projected what Cline Library might be like in the year 2025, based on interviews and forecasts from current library staff, library patrons, and others.
The project team interviewed NAU faculty members including Gretchen McAllister, Professor in the College of Education; NAU students including Peter Hopkins (a sophomore majoring in Construction Management), Jeannette Rodda (PhD candidate in the History Department), Jovita Ellisa (senior majoring in Elementary Education), Marda Mustapha (doctoral student in Political Science), Michelle Skamser (majoring in Psychology); Jerry O'Donnell, the Chief Public Information Officer of the U.S. Census Bureau; Mauricio Rivera-Quijano, Instructional Designer at NAU's Center for Technology Enhanced Learning; Kelly Peterson, Information Professional Consultant for Lexis-Nexis; local authors Rick Tilman, David S. F. Portree, and Scott Thybony; Janet Fisher, Director of the Law and Research Library Division of Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records; and Aaron O'Neal, elementary school teacher.
Interviewees were asked to speak to topics or questions including:

The A Look into the Library of the Future video recordings (NAU.MI.2002.43) contains original interview footage and other video recordings used in the production of A Look into the Library of the Future (2002), a short film exploring what Northern Arizona University's Cline Library might be like in the year 2022. These include videotaped interviews with Gretchen McAllister, Jeannette Rodda, Marda Mustapha, Rick Tilman, Scott Thybony, and Mauricio Rivera-Quijano, as well as "street interviews" with NAU students. The collection also includes the finished film A Look into the Library of the Future.
Due to the lack of necessary playback equipment in the Miriam Lemont Reading Room, as well as the threat of damage to the original recordings, DVCAM and VHS tapes from the A Look into the Library of the Future video recordings are not available for access or use on site in Cline Library.
