Biographical Note

SCA has little information about Werner Schroeder's life. Based on materials in the collection, Schroeder visited the Glen Canyon region in Arizona and the area surrounding Canyonlands National Park in southeastern Utah between 1972 and 1978.

Scope and Content

The Werner Schroeder slides consist of 160 photographic slides containing images of the Glen Canyon region, including Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell, the Paria river, Antelope Canyon, and the town of Page in Arizona. Additional photographs depict Canyonlands National Park, Natural Bridges National Monument, Valley of the Gods, Angel Arch, Salt Creek Canyon, and Needles in Utah.

The Werner Schroeder slides were donated to SCA by Joan Nevills Staveley in 2018. Staveley acquired the slides as a gift from Schroeder.
