In 1976, bones were found in Emory Kolb’s boat house. Many suspected that the bones were those of Glen Hyde, who with Bessie Hyde in 1928, went missing during their honeymoon trip down the Colorado River. After the bones were discovered, much lore and speculation followed, but during the 1990s -- the bones were positively identified as those of a man who committed suicide in the Canyon in 1933. His identity remain a mystery, as does the fate of Glen and Bessie Hyde.
Photocopies of records and correspondence from the Coconino County Sherrif's Department; Grand Canyon National Park; Arizona State Museum; Arizona Department of Public Safety; Federal Bureau of Investigation; as well as many other institutions and organizations. Collection also contains newspaper clippings and photographs of the bones.
