Biographical Note

Jimmy Kewanwytewa was a well known Hopi artist and carver. He worked for years at the Museum of Northern Arizona assisting as its first custodian and also helped in the documentation of Hopi kachina dolls. Around 1952 Jean Goodman and Jimmy Kewanwytewa produced a biography of his life entitled The Other Hopi. This manuscript was never published.


Scope and Content

Collection consists of an original manuscript of The Other Hopi, and a photograph of Jimmy holding two kachina dolls.
