 Abstract:  Courses in mechanics were conducted under the supervision of Dean G. M. Butler, College of Mines and Engineering, in contract with the United States government to provide specialized training to 200 mechanics between July and August 1918. Members of the program were known as the "Fighting Mechanics". In September 1918, the program was expanded to become the Student's Army Training Corps.

 Abstract:  Holograph manuscript, in pencil, of the short story, Courage. It consists of eight leaves and contains McCutcheon's edits. The story concerns a wounded World War I soldier recalling his battle experiences, while recuperating in a French military hospital. The last page is signed and dated, December 23, 1917; however, a note at the beginning of the story says it was started December 20, 1916 and completed December 22. A typescript of the original story is included.

This original typescript relates the history of the Ambulance Service with the French Army on the Western Front, during WWI. A signed introduction by Col. Percy L. Jones, Paris, April 15, 1919, states that the report is in compliance with instructions given by the Surgeon General, Nov. 27, 1918.
