and Congress mines, and the Hassayampa River in flood. While the bulk of the images are

His groundbreaking research primarily focuses on global fire history, particularly in the US, Russia, Australia, Mexico, and Canada. It also contains correspondence and other papers related to his books, conferences, and grants, including the MacArthur Fellowship, the Fulbright Sweden, the National Humanities Center, Virginia G. Piper creative research fellowship, and the National Science Foundation. region. The majority of the collection dates from the late 1930s - 1990s. Items prior to
1930 tend to be copies or transcriptions of diaries and documents. Copies of Mormon
diaries and reminiscences, oral interviews, river logs, correspondence with other
researchers and friends, and photographs constitute the bulk of this
