notes and papers, preserved in 217 binders, along with some recordings. These binders

Dartmouth, Hopi, Navajo and Apache, Southwest, Taos and New Mexico, Havasupai, and
Whiting-Personal. The bulk of the collection was amassed by the late A.F. Whiting over

Diaries, correspondence, and photographs provide biographical materials from her childhood
through late career. Of special note are the letters to and from colleagues who shaped the
