 Abstract:  Typescript of unpublished manuscript, with photographs, concerning the story of Apache May, a young Apache girl found in May, 1896, by Cochise County cattleman and former sheriff, John Slaughter, in an abandoned Apache camp. She lived with the Slaughters at their San Bernadino Ranch until her accidental death in 1900. Photographs are of Apache May at various ages, some with Viola Slaughter.

 Abstract:  One of three extant copies of a seven-page typescript report. It describes the covered bridge at French's Mill, N.Y., which was built in 1866. Contains eight mounted and labeled photographs; they depict different views and construction aspects of the bridge, both before and after the roof and side covering was removed. Blueprints drawn by Paulsen, letters, and a newspaper clipping are located in a back pocket.

The bulk of the material is comprised of photographs of Vera Hall throughout her career as Baby Hall, as part of the vaudeville act Raymond and Hall and as part of the vaudeville act Goelet and Hall. Photos of her husband and partner John William Goelet and her partner Edward Raymond are also included. The collection also contains printed material including theater programs and announcements, sheet music, newsletters, newspaper clippings and a scrapbook; documents including obituaries and a family tree; an audio tape of Jane Grey’s memories; artifacts including pins and clothes fasteners; and slides from a retrospective called a Salute to Vaudeville and of the family’s travels to Japan.

 Abstract:  Typescript about the archaeology of early native peoples in the southwest region of Texas and across the border into Coahuila, Mexico. Martin describes a culture, also referred to as Toboso, that he has named the Big Bend Basket-Makers, because of similarities with the Basket Makers of Arizona and New Mexico. He discusses linguistic groups and migrations, as well as diagnostic traits related to skull shape, textiles, baskets, cloud-blowers, and projectile points.  Abstract:  Allan Radbourne was a writer and historian. In addition to numerous journal and magazine articles about Western history, he published an acclaimed biography of Apache Scout Mickey Free in 2005 called Mickey Free: Apache captive, interpreter, and Indian Scout. Later in life he began writing about the early cinema, with a history of silent movies titled The Silent Mountie Movies-1910-1930 published posthumously in 2021. The Allan Radbourne collection consists of 7 series of records, notes, photographs, articles, transcriptions, presentations and other reference materials related to Southwestern Frontier and Borderlands History circa 1800's and early 1900's created by Allan Radbourne. Inclusive dates reflect the original date of the primary source material if available or if it is transcribed from an original source material. Born digital material found on a flash drive can be found in Series V.
