 Abstract:  Contains two holograph duplicate invoices for building materials and tools sent for the construction of "the Fort on the River Gila." The invoices were signed and dated by Bvt. Lt. Col. S. McRee, Quartermaster, U.S. Army, St. Louis, Mo. on May 12 and June 7, 1849. The invoice dated June 7 consists of one leaf; that of May 12, consists of three pages. The lists include weights and quantities for diverse items such as quarry picks, wheel segments, paint brushes, cooking stoves, door locks, glue and glue pots, grind stones, linseed oil, plows, window glass, plugs of feathers, and white lead. Items were sent to an unnamed "Acting Quartermaster," and items not received were so noted.

 Abstract:  The Old Abe mine, in White Oaks, New Mexico, produced a million dollars worth of gold from one of the deepest dry mines in the world. Its true vein was discovered in 1890 by William Watson, who shared ownership with seven other people, named in the back of the book. One volume, lists dividends, expenses and receipts from 1890-1891. It is accompanied by photocopies of five articles from the Lincoln County (N.M.) News, from 1956-1958, relating the history of the mine and the area.

 Abstract:  The Plez Talmadge Reilly Collection consists of subject files, research notes, and visual documentation (through photographs and moving images) relating to the history of Grand Canyon, the Colorado Plateau, and Lees Ferry. The collection is extensive and represents a significant contribution to the study of human exploration and settlement of the southern Utah and northern Arizona region. The majority of the collection dates from the late 1930s to 1970s. Items prior to 1930 tend to be copies or transcriptions of diaries and research documents. Copies of Mormon diaries and reminiscences, oral interviews, river logs, correspondence with other researchers and friends, and photographs constitute the bulk of this collection.
