Title:  Northern Arizona Mormon Pioneers Collection, 1735-2001. ead
 Date(s):  1735-2001.
Abstract:  The Arizona Mormon Pioneer Collection introduces researchers to the family histories of many original settlers in northern Arizona. Eighteen hundred and seventy-six marked the year that the first permanent Mormon settlements appeared in northern Arizona. Traversing the Utah Territory, settlers crossed the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry, and then made their way along the Little Colorado River. From this juncture, hundreds of Mormon settlers built towns, established schools and churches, and fought with locals across the face of the Arizona Territory before they could call it their home.

The incoming postal materials span from 1907–1910. The correspondence in this collection provides a snapshot of the life experiences of Amanda Graham, a woman living in the Arizona Territory during the early 1900s, along with those of her family and acquaintances located throughout various regions of the country. Family news, health, and crop growth are a few of the topics discussed. The collection also includes a few pieces of business correspondence, such as bills and credit notifications. From a postal history perspective, the envelopes may be of interest because of the flag cancels and Tucson Territorial backstamps.
