 Abstract:  Holograph manuscript, on parchment, of "Articles of Agreement" drawn up in London, August 25, 1869, by which Charles D. Poston, as attorney for the Arizona Mining Company, transferred to Roswell Sabine Ripley of London, for the price of 100,000 pounds sterling, all the real and movable property and mineral rights pertaining to the Arivaca Ranch and the Heintzelman (or Cerro Colorado) Mine. Inserted is an affidavit signed by the Mayor of London and the U.S. Consul-General at London acknowledging the validity of the agreement.

 Abstract:  The Spenazuma Gold Mining and Milling Company was formed in 1898 by Richard C. Flower to fraudulently sell stock in a non-existent mine. The scheme was exposed in 1899 by newspaperman George H. Smalley. The collection includes promotional and descriptive literature, assay certificates, and other papers concerning the Spenazuma swindle.

Ferguson and F. T. Blandy, local superintendents, mostly about operations of the Elkhart Mine, Chloride, Mohave County, Arizona, to the British Syndicate owners of the mine. Includes letters of chief clerk M. P. Dodge. Also includes letters about Prescott Development Syndicate, the Security Mining and Development Syndicate, the Mineral Hill Copper Syndicate (mainly pp. 401-451) and other mine enterprises mostly in Arizona.
