 Abstract:  The Don Pace Papers consist primarily of correspondence, clippings, meeting minutes, financial records, and other materials documenting cultural heritage institutions, including the Cochise County Historical and Archaeological Society, the Eastern Arizona Museum and Historical Society, Fort Bowie National Historic Site, the Graham County Historical Society, and the Pimeria Alta Historical Society; Pace's service on the Board of the Arizona Historical Society; the history of several Arizona towns, including Bisbee, Clifton, Pima, Safford, and Thatcher; and pioneer Arizona families. Also present are several items documenting Pace's personal life, including a program for the St. Joseph Stake Singing Mothers in Concert and a prayer written by Pace.

This collection contains typescript, accompanied by an autobiographical sketch, and letter of transmittal from Mrs. Josephine F. Garrick. A version edited by Ben Traywick, was published by Red Marie's, 1988.

 Abstract:  Lewis W. Douglas was a businessman, Democratic politician, philanthropist, and diplomat. He served in the Arizona State Legislature, United States House of Representatives, United States Budget Director, President of McGill University, head of the United States War Shipping Administration, and Ambassador to Great Britian. His father, James Stuart Douglas (1868-1949) was a mine owner and banker. His grandfather, James Douglas (1837-1918) was a mining engineer, metallurgist, industrialist, and the person for whom the town of Douglas, Arizona was named. This collection includes a typescript (photocopy) made from author's original.

 Abstract:  Sister Monica was a member of party of Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet and traveled to Tucson to establish St. Joseph's Convent. Later she established St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. This collection is made up of a diary of railway and stage journey from St. Louis, Mo. to Tucson, Ariz., April 21, 1870-May 26, 1870, with Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet. Later it was published in part as The Trek of the Seven Sisters, Tucson, 1948.

 Abstract:  Located at the border of Washington and Oregon, it was a Hudson Bay Company trading post from 1829-1846. One portfolio containing printed and holographic items related primarily to the 4th Infantry, based at Fort Vancouver. The earliest material consists of nine monthly post returns from 1854, signed by the commanding officer, Lt. Col. Benjamin Louis Eulalie de Bonneville. These post returns list officers by name; enlisted men by count; civil employees, their duties, and rate of pay; official communications received; also the names of anyone sick, or in confinement for desertion. A food survey report from 1856 is concerned with rotten pork, hard bread, and moldy coffee. Later correspondence, special orders, and general orders date from 1860 to 1866.
