His father, James Stuart Douglas (1868-1949) was a mine owner and banker. His grandfather, James Douglas (1837-1918) was a mining engineer, metallurgist, industrialist, and the person for whom the town of Douglas, Arizona was named. It contains an introduction with background information, annotations, and a map of the voyage.

Illustrated with a few small explanatory drawings. Formulas include those for incrusting and engraving glass; illuminating photographic portraits; painting on velvet, corduroy, and satin; making pictures of bronze; and constructing fruits and flowers.

 Abstract:  Holograph letter written to Harvey Whitehill, Sheriff of Grant Co., New Mexico, dated March 26, 1900. It was sent from Tiernan's office in Galveston, Texas. The letter recounts his 1880 arrival in the Territory of New Mexico and his first meeting with Sheriff Whitehill. It also relates their encounter with Victorio's band of Apaches on Copper Creek, northwest of Silver City, and their subsequent rescue by the 6th Cavalry regiment under Captain Madden, and the 9th regiment under Colonel Hatch.

 Abstract:  Arthur Symons, 1865-1945, was a Welsh poet, author, translator, playwright, and literary critic. Ten groups of literary manuscripts, each cased separately by volume number.
