Also included are numerous studio portraits and personal photographs showing Webb with family, participating in recreational activities, and with film and sports celebrities.

Arizona subjects (as formulated by the McLaughlins) include agriculture, irrigation, and floods; cities; city and county government; construction; dams (including Roosevelt Dam and Glen Canyon Dam); governors; homes; hotels, resorts, and bars; Native Americans; the military; mines and mining; national parks and monuments (including the Grand Canyon); ranching, cattle, and livestock; recreation; rodeos; parades; shopping centers; the State capitol; and transportation. They also contain personal correspondence and information regarding Ms. Bruce’s longtime work with the National Association for Mental Health, and a bound collection of letters written by previous guests of the Forum given to Ms. Bruce upon her retirement.

	Abstract:	The Empire Ranch Foundation (ERF) is a non-profit organization, established in 1997, that works in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to protect, restore, and sustain the historical buildings and landscapes of the Empire Ranch. The Empire Ranch was established in 1876 and has been a working cattle ranch since, owned by two pioneer families: The Vails (1876-1928) and the Boices (1928-1969). The Empire Ranch was later owned by corporations before being transfered to the Bureau of Land Management, who enforces the preservation of the historic site. In 1997, the ERF was established to help the BLM with preservation projects while also making sure the site is still accessible to the general public. The materials in this collection are from the ERF and reflect their daily operations, preservation projects, research materials, oral histories, events, and other materials. Materials remain in the original order as provided by the Empire Ranch Foundation upon their donation to Special Collections.

This collection is part of the Arizona Queer Archives (AQA), a community focused archive through the Institute for LGBT Studies at the University of Arizona. It was transferred to Special Collections in 2020.
