Bracken's role as a university faculty member protesting the Vietnam War through participating in teach-ins, organizing student protest groups such as Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), writing editorials, and giving speeches. It also contains intra-university documents that highlight Bracken's involvement in actively protesting the War and resulting interactions and communications with the ASU administration. Bracken's teaching notes are also included, from a myriad of philosophy and history courses taught by him over the course of his career, as well as extensive research notes on areas of philosophy, history, syntax, activism events, and court cases associated with civil and human rights violations. The collection also contains Bracken's personal communications via letters and emails to his students, colleagues, and publishers throughout his career. Oral History Project, 1966-2022 ead | | | Date(s): | 1966-2022 | | | Abstract: | The Doris Duke Native American Oral History Project was initiated in 1967 across seven different universities. At the University of Arizona, the project was conducted through the Arizona State Museum and coordinated by Bernard “Bunny” Fontana, an anthropologist who was the museum’s Director of Ethnology at the time. The project resulted in the collection of 615 interviews, representing 33 different tribal groups. The bulk of the collection is from Apache, Navajo, Pima, Tohono O'Odham, and Yaqui consultants. Other tribes from Arizona and Mexico are also represented: including the Mohave, Hopi, Seri, Tarahumara, and Yavapai. The interviews discuss personal and family histories, along with topics such as social culture, education, folklore, health and health care, history, language, and religion. Interviews with Acoma, Apache, Chiricahua, Chemehuevi, Chontal, Dakota, Inuit, Havasupai, Hualapai, Juaneño, Maricopa, Mexican, Mormon, Muslim, Mohave, Navajo, Pima, Quechua, San Juan, Santa Clara, Seri, Spanish-American, Tarahumara, Tewa, Tohono O'Odham, Tiwa, Western Apache, Yaqui, Yavapai, and Yuman interviewees.

of General August Valentine Kautz, written between 1859 and 1894, as well as related materials such as 30 rolls of
microfilm of official U.S. Army documents at various Arizona army posts. These include Fort Whipple, Camp Lincoln,
Fort Verde, etc. - all pertaining to the career of General Kautz. In addition, the collection contains research
materials related to the Sitgreaves Expedition (1851), the Amiel Weeks Whipple Expedition (1853-1854) and the Joseph
Christmas Ives Expedition (1857-1858). In the collection there are a variety of maps, journals, illustrations,
scholarly articles, biographical sources and genealogical materials. All resources were copied, composed or
