The vast majority of the photographs depict Park Central and some of its individual stores as they appeared in approximately the 1980s; other photographs include images showing the mall's initial construction and aerial views picturing the mall and its surroundings. Most of the blueprints depict the mall's original layout and construction and date from approximately 1956. In the case of Diamond's and Goldwaters', blueprints documenting later additions and changes are also present. The scrapbooks consist primarily of newspaper clippings documenting promotions and other events sponsored by and/or hosted at Park Central. 1860-2021 ead | | | Date(s): | 1860-2021 | | | Abstract: | The Empire Ranch Foundation (ERF) is a non-profit organization,
established in 1997, that works in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
to protect, restore, and sustain the historical buildings and landscapes of the Empire
Ranch. The Empire Ranch was established in 1876 and has been a working cattle ranch
since, owned by two pioneer families: The Vails (1876-1928) and the Boices (1928-1969).
The Empire Ranch was later owned by corporations before being transfered to the Bureau
of Land Management, who enforces the preservation of the historic site. In 1997, the ERF
was established to help the BLM with preservation projects while also making sure the
site is still accessible to the general public. The materials in this collection are
from the ERF and reflect their daily operations, preservation projects, research
materials, oral histories, events, and other materials. Materials remain in the original
order as provided by the Empire Ranch Foundation upon their donation to Special
Collections. | | | Repository: | University of Arizona Libraries, Special Collections | | | Subjects: | Ranches -- Arizona | Business Enterprises -- Arizona -- Archives | | | Matches: 2 hit(s)
