Pape family of Washington, D.C. and Arizona show family groups, homes and activities from 1900 to 1930. There are portraits of Hermina Boyer Pape’s parents and sisters. Many unidentified and identified studio portraits are present that are assumed to be family or friends.

 Abstract:  Albert Franklin Banta was an Arizona pioneer who served as an Indian Scout, mail carrier, postmaster, miner and newspaperman. He served on the Territorial Legislature under the name “Charles Franklin” and played a critical role in the creation of Apache County. He founded the Arizona Miner newspaper in Prescott and established the St. John’s Observer in St. John’s Arizona. The collection contains records for his various roles as well as financial and personal papers. There is a rich collection of correspondence regarding many historical facts in Arizona’s history.
