They were collected as part of an ethnographic study of the New Age practice called "channeling," essentially a contemporary version of spirit meduimship in which human beings serve as channels for information said to come from a range of spiritual beings. This project culminated in several journal articles, book chapters, and one monograph, The Channeling Zone: American Spirituality in an Anxious Age (Harvard University Press, 1997). | | | | Repository: | Cline Library.
