small, Tucson based publishing house founded in 1984. Since opening they have published
hundreds of books by creative, and innovative poets. They are known for their unique style
of books that include both soft-bound offset books as well as hand-printed limited editions,
combining both complex visual dynamics and more various book structures throughout all of
their letterpress books. This collection contains business materials, book development
materials, published manuscripts, and illustrative plates and blocks used by the press, as

Craven, Maynard Dixon, Helena Modjeska, Robert A. Parker, family and friends,
colleagues, employers, and inter-view-ees, including Sarah Bernhardt and Francisco
Villa. Scrapbooks document her private life; college years at University of California,
1901-1906; early acting, writing, and employment in California, New York, Europe, and
Mexico, 1909-1932; and critical coverage of the productions of her dramatic works from

deeds, diaries/ledgers and photographs. The bulk of the material relates to Sanford's
Arizona ranch as well as his varied business interests in both Tucson and Washington,
D.C. The collection also contains legal records relating to the San Jose de Sonoita land
grant. (1900-1942) ead | | | Date(s): | 1878-1998 | | | Abstract: | This collection contains materials documenting the Riggs pioneer family history from the time Brannick Riggs married Mary Elizabeth Robbins in Texas in 1856, their first wagon train move to Colorado in 1871, and several years later relocating again to southeastern Arizona, arriving and settling in Sulphur Springs Valley in 1879. Their eighth child, John Casey Riggs (1874-1943), was the family’s historian and creator of the bulk of the papers. The collection includes Our El Dorado, a biographical book written by John C. Riggs and his daughter, Jeanette Riggs Roll. 1943 to 1957, of anthropologist George C. Barker. The collection documents Barker's anthropological research into folk drama and ritual, the social functions of language,
the Pachuco language of Hispanic youths, and Yaqui Indian culture and customs. A 1964 gift to the Southwest Folklore Archives from George C. Barker, Sr. Deaccessioned
from the collection in 1993 were approximately 0.2 feet of duplicates and items of a personal nature. In 1996 two 11 x 14 black-and-white photographs by Alfred A. Cohn
were transferred to the L. Marguerite Collier Collection, Southwest Folklore Center Manuscripts Collection MS 611.
