 Abstract:  John Henry Holst was the Supervisor of Indian Education, U.S. Dept. of the Interior, 1928-1943. Original typescript with holograph corrections, written about 1950, chiefly concerning education on the Navajo Indian Reservation during the 1930s and early 1940s. Includes 7 photographs of chapter houses and Navajo in western New Mexico and east central Arizona taken in the 1930s.

 Abstract:  The People's Committee Against Gambling was a group formed to defeat Initiative Measure 302-303, aimed at legalizing gambling in Arizona. David Brinegar was its director. Collection includes a journal of activities, news releases, financial statements, and related papers; chiefly typescript material, with holograph notations, pertaining to a statewide campaign to defeat proposed legislation aimed at legalizing gambling in Arizona. Also included is a 1981 interview with David Brinegar about the campaign.

 Abstract:  Photographs, 1950-1995 (bulk 1970-1989). This collection is comprised of the photographs of Warren H. Anderson. The bulk of the material relates to his dual careers as a professor of art education at the University of Arizona and as an artist but it also includes family photographs and photographs from his travels. The collection consists primarily of slides but also included are print photographs, negatives, 8 mm films, printed notes and class handouts, and articles. It also contains several large photographs, some mounted, and an original photo montage, “Travel on Gravel with Ethyl”.
