 Abstract:  Frankenstein: Penetrating the Secrets of Nature : A Traveling Exhibition to America's Libraries was an exhibit developed by the U.S. National Library of Medicine in collaboration with the American Library Association. It was made possible by major grants from The National Endowment for the Humanities, Washington, D.C., and the National Library of Medicine, Bethesda, Md. The traveling exhibition was based upon a major exhibition produced by the National Library of Medicine in 1997-1998.  Abstract:  This collection contains information related to the Krutch cactus garden controversy that took place at the University of Arizona in 2001-2002. When the University of Arizona contemplated removing the cactus garden to extend the campus mall, protests surrounding the cactus and the historical significance of its presence at the university began. It was later decided to retain the Joseph Wood Krutch memorial cactus garden.
