Some contain Bailey's holograph edits; one, Grandpa was a Polygamist, is signed. Two are novels about the Great Basin Indians. The Claws of the Hawk: the Incredible Life of Wahker the Ute, focuses on events in the life of the leader Walkara. Ghost Dance Messiah: the Jack Wilson Story is about the Paiute prophet Wovoka, who originated a Ghost dance phenomenon of the late 1880s. The other three drafts concern Mormon life and history.

The bulk of the material consists of the court case, personal digests, technical reports and articles used by Jay Bankston to aid him in his application to the Veterans Administration for compensation for cancer he believed was the result of exposure to radiation during his military service in the Marshall Islands.
