Most of the personal and family papers consist of clippings and invitations relating to the Deftys' musical interests, but also include a few family photographs and two diaries.

The collection includes mining papers, account books, records of leases, scrapbook of photographs and newspaper clippings, and other business and personal papers. Includes blueprints of maps, time books and expense accounts, and photographs of Clarkston and the Ajo Mining District. Also present are family photographs, subscription lists of Clarkston inhabitants, and account books for rental properties.
