Abstract: | The Stephen J. Pyne Papers contain materials from Arizona State University Regents Professor Emeritus Stephen J. Pyne, who began his academic career at the University Iowa before becoming one of the founding faculty members of ASU-West, and later moved to ASU's Department of History and the School of Life Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences on the Tempe campus. His groundbreaking research primarily focuses on global fire history, particularly in the US, Russia, Australia, Mexico, and Canada. It also contains correspondence and other papers related to his books, conferences, and grants, including the MacArthur Fellowship, the Fulbright Sweden, the National Humanities Center, Virginia G. Piper creative research fellowship, and the National Science Foundation.
