The bulk of the correspondence is from federal agencies including the USDA Divisions of Ornithology and Mammalogy, Biological Survey, and Entomology, as well as from natural history institutions including the US National Museum, the Zoological Society of Philadelphia, the California Academy of Sciences, and the New York Zoological Society. Topics center on the receipt, identification, and exchange of natural history specimens including reptiles, mammals, insects, birds, and botanical material collected in Arizona.
