Colorado in 1938, and a 1939 boat trip from the Pacific to the Atlantic; uprunning Hells
Canyon on the Snake river in Idaho. There are many letters to and from Holmstrom pertaining
to these trips, as well as his 3 years of service as a PT boat carpenter during World War
