This collection houses transcripts of oral histories conducted with 29 Arizona women. Among the subjects covered are migration to Arizona, childhood recollections, family life, employment outside the home, religion, military service, marriage, childrearing, and politics. Also included is supplemental biographical information provided by interviewees.

The Margaret Hance Photograph Collection contains over 1400 loose photographs of various sizes in addition to several photo albums. Although most of the photographs date to the years Hance served as the mayor of Phoenix (1976-1984), some of the collection also represents the years she served as a presidential campaign manager to Ronald Reagan and George Bush.
