contains correspondence, journals, subject files, articles pertaining to the canyon country,
manuscript drafts of his unpublished Westerns, creative art work, photographs and maps. The
photographs, ranging from 1946 to the late 1990s comprise, nearly half of the collection,
including many aerial photographs of Glen Canyon in the 1950s. Smaller in volume are
documents and correspondence related to his family, as well as Sprang's career as a Batman
artist with D.C. Comics. There are also several reel-to-reel audio tapes. The bulk of the
collection centers on Sprang's interest in the canyon country of southern Utah and northern
