 Abstract:  James S. "Big Jim" Griffith (1935-2021) was a notable anthropologist, folklorist, and banjo player whose work focused on folklore and folk art within Arizona, the southwest, borderlands, and Mexico. He was also a co-founder of the Tucson Meet Yourself Festival. This collection includes Griffith's research files, photographs, field notebooks, and other documents related to folklore, saints, places, and other projects.
