 Abstract:  Benjamin Silliman, 1816-1885, was a chemist and a professor at Yale, from 1853. He was the son of Benjamin Silliman, also a chemist, geologist, and Yale professor, 1802-1852. The collection contains letters from George A. Treadwell and others, relating to mining ventures in Arizona, with 2 post cards, a drawing, and 2 newspaper clippings.

The collection includes mining papers, account books, records of leases, scrapbook of photographs and newspaper clippings, and other business and personal papers. Includes blueprints of maps, time books and expense accounts, and photographs of Clarkston and the Ajo Mining District. Also present are family photographs, subscription lists of Clarkston inhabitants, and account books for rental properties.
