1903-1914 | | | Abstract: | The Carl Moon collection is comprised of photographs, ca.
1903-1914, consisting of black and white copy prints of Apache, Hopi, Navajo,
and other American Indians. The collection is artificially arranged into seven
series: Portraits, Cafts, Music, Men, Habitat, Ceremonies and Family. Printed
on fiber paper 5 by 8 inches or smaller, these photographs are annotated with
names and places, and some are dated. The bulk of the images consist of

(1900-1942) ead | | | Date(s): | 1878-1998 | | | Abstract: | This collection contains materials documenting the Riggs pioneer family history from the time Brannick Riggs married Mary Elizabeth Robbins in Texas in 1856, their first wagon train move to Colorado in 1871, and several years later relocating again to southeastern Arizona, arriving and settling in Sulphur Springs Valley in 1879. Their eighth child, John Casey Riggs (1874-1943), was the family’s historian and creator of the bulk of the papers. The collection includes Our El Dorado, a biographical book written by John C. Riggs and his daughter, Jeanette Riggs Roll.
