| | Abstract: | Records of the Andean Anthropological Expedition, a planned scientific expedition to Ecuador and Peru directed by Dr. Robert E. Solosth under the auspices of the Arizona Anthropological Association. The collection comprises 168 items (506 pages) in two bound volumes (A-83a and A-83b) and documents the diplomatic and logistical preparations for the expedition, including correspondence with U.S. and foreign government officials, letters of endorsement, permits for entry and importation of equipment and firearms, radio licensing, and extensive planning materials including equipment lists, personnel rosters, organizational charts, mimeographed bulletins, photographs, maps, and promotional materials for a proposed Institute for Scientific Research. | |
